  • Due to my interest in IT, I chose MCA as my stepping stone to move to the world of professionals. I was enjoying as I was doing what I always wanted to. However, in those three years of MCA, gradually, I found that I have a keen interest in knowing technologies, understanding the system, interacting with people, presenting my ideas, instead of writing code- somehowthe role of Analyst in building a system. However, to my understanding, you cannot become an analyst in a day; you need to be more observant, patient, and expressive in terms of your technical knowledge.   Next thing fiddling in my mind was – which field would give me the chance to blendthese? That time Technical Writing was emerging, and I got an answer to my question, although I was not a writer. However, as destiny has its way, I got a job in a companythe publishing of technical books was done. There I was writing a lot of technical books, and my journey got a kick start.    Life was going on and on until I got an opportunity to work for one of my company’s client – big MNC, which overall changed my career graph. Here, I was enjoying a lot as I was doing what I exactly wanted to. My reporting manager was a female – gave me immense confidence that nothing is impossible if you have that one right spark within you; I was thoroughly motivated. My enthusiasm level was reaching new height as every product release was incomplete without my piece of writing, and above all, my ideas were getting an ear to listen.    As every good thing comes to an end, so as my journey with this company. Later, I realized good things come to an end to welcome something better. The placeI am working right now played an important role in evolving my journey as a technical writer. Here, my reporting manager is a male and the team I got here is fantastic. With each passing day, I am learning, reading, and getting that freedom to which, every employee looks for.    If I talk about gender bias, then I had not experienced it anyway – maybe it is just the mindset and difference of opinion. Now, the question is, why am I writing my journey here? Well! The answer is quite simple; when there is darkness everywhere, then a little sparkle helps in enlightenment. Same is the case; I wantwomen to be inspired and transformed. When any girl starts a professional journey, then she should beconfident and positive.  Trust me - talent has no shape, size, gender, and age. Yes! Maybe at times, it becomes difficult for a woman to showcase her talent in this dominating male world, but that’s what woman is known for – she is a fighter and always carves out her way by breakingthe barriers coming on her way to success.  Keeping this thought in mind, I remember one inspiring quote –   “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.”                                                                                                                  – Diane Mariechild

Testimonials

Here's what the winners and leaders say about their #TG3 experience!
  •  It was a good event and the passion and energy of the women coders was palpable. It was especially sweet to hear the stories of the women who won and others who came across and discussed the issues on top of their minds.
Its so important to have such events for women so it brings out role models. So thanks to Tech Gig for the Geek Goddess contests.
